The UCI Road World Championships will return to Spain in 2014 with event organisers confirming that the UNESCO listed town of Ponferrada will play host to the world’s best road cyclists from the 20th to 28th of September in 2014.
Located in the province of El Bierzo, Ponferrada has a rich and vibrant history, with this ancient walled city one of the major staging posts on the Pilgrims Road to Santiago de Compostela.
Riders will make their way through ancient streets within the historic quarter, which sits behind the imposing fortress castle built by the Knights Templar and the mountains that cradle the city.
Don’t miss out on your chance to watch your favourites fight it out for the coveted rainbow jersey at the 2014 Road World Championships in Ponferrada.
UCI Travel itineraries provide a detailed day-by-day briefing on all package activities, inclusions and exclusions. Necessary dates, times and meeting points are also included in these documents. If I’m travelling on my own, will you find me a roommate or can I have a private room?
The choice is yours. Our packages are priced as twin share, meaning that solo travellers booking on their own will be automatically matched up with another guest of the same gender who have also booked by themselves.
Alternatively, you can purchase a single supplement and have a private room to yourself.
What is a single supplement?
A single supplement is an optional add-on to your regular package which provides guests travelling on their own with a private room instead of a shared twin. This is suited to those who prefer a little extra privacy or just extra room to move around in their room.
There is an extra cost incurred when adding a single supplement. The cost differs depending on the length and type of package.
How far in advance do I need to make my booking?
UCI Travel recommends booking your package at least 90 days prior to departure. This allows us to assist you with any extra requirements well in advance of your experience beggining. These might include flights, transfers, insurance or extra accommodation nights. In addition to this, booking earlier increases you chance of securing your place on your desired package and room configuration, as many of our trips sell out close to departure.
Can I extend my trip before and after my package dates?
Yes you can. In most cases we stay in the UCI Official Hotel and we can request extra accommodation nights either before or after your package dates. These extra nights can be added to your overall invoice, making your extended stay as simple as possible. UCI Travel can also assist you with flights and transfers in and out of the event location.
